Ten-year Treasury note bearish bets increased last week

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) showed speculators increased their overall bearish positions on the US ten-year Treasury note futures last week after reducing the same in the previous week.

The non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes saw a weekly change of -41,463 net contracts to total a net position of -153,366 contracts. The long positions in 10-year futures dropped by -54,328 contracts while the short positions fell by -12,865 contracts.

Meanwhile, during the reporting time-period - April 14th to April 21st - the yield on the 10-Year treasury note edged slightly higher from 1.90% to 1.92%.

According to FXStreet Editor and Analyst, Omkar Godbole, GBP/USD intraday charts signal that the pair remains overbought, hence a downside correction towards 1.5144 and 1.51 might be seen on a break below 1.5173.
